Main Purpose of Job

Maintain the balance between life cycle of all products to ensure consistent performance and growth against competitor by identifying gaps of low performing products from the markets. Monitor the new product & low performing portfolio sales and profitability

Key Outputs: List the main areas in which the job must deliver in order to achieve its purpose.

  • Identifying the market for new products prospects & low performing product for retails & project sales. Will be responsible for initial business development with sales target
  • To prepare proposal & plan for new product launches, market research survey before launching of new products
  • Lead and generate strong consumer insight for New Products
  • To analyze the market and competition to identify the opportunities, threats and key issues. (SWOT)
  • Responsible for new product training for internal sales persons & trainers
  • Designing of sales promotional inputs including visual-aids, Leave behind literatures (LBL), sales & sample packs in Coordination with Marketing team
  • Work hand in hand with Area Sales Manager on a specific geographic territory to address the technical sales related issues
  • Gather the competitor’s information from market in a MIS format thru focus groups & research personnel visit’s.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Graduate in Chemistry (Science background)
  • Certified course in Microsoft Office – MS Word, Windows, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good leadership skills, team leader, proactive with excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and has creativity.
  • Decisive, diplomatic with good listening skills.
  • Analytical skills

Key Experience:

* Minimum 5 years working experience in handling New Product sales, specialty products & key accounts management.

 

* Have Data analysis experience more than 3-year experience in Technical Sales or Product Management.

* Knowledge/experience of working in paint or related industry.

R & D Technical Manager -Industrial & wood finish

Main Purpose of Job

Ability to understand the coating products and effectively lead a team of officers to deliver formulated product solutions to varying customers’ needs with speed.  Coach, train hands on and develops officers to enhance technical skills.

 

Sub Purpose: New industrial product Development, Product performance Improvement, Cost reduction of products, Shade matching, line extension, Benchmarking, coating processes, testing & maintaining quality of the products as per the Standard.

Key Outputs: List the main areas in which the job must deliver in order to achieve its purpose.

1-New coating product developments especially industrial   to maintain competitive edge in market, increased brand value & increase financial values. Line extension of existing portfolio of products.

2- Shade development and line extension for New products as part of sales support.

3- Evaluate competitors’ products for suitable modification, matching performance, cost reduction or improvement to suit customer and market needs.

4-Vendor development – New raw material identification for new product development, substitution,  cost reduction and Product Improvement. Conceptualize projects with vendors

5- Thorough knowledge of coating test protocol and method establishment. Setting performance features for quality. Good knowledge on industrial and PU RMs used especially resins and polymers.

6- Preparation of customer samples and applications procedures. Knowledge on application tools.

7. Offering technical advisory services on the product[s] and application processes involved at customers’ end. Effective interface with other stake holders having ability to work in a team. Ability to lead a team.

8- Helping to solve customer complains. Route cause and failure mode analyses.

9- Standardization of production process in plant for New & Regular products as required.

10- Management of laboratory consumables, EHS & carrying Internal calibration of the instruments.

11-Undertaking  of Kaizen objectives and follow up ISO standards. Knowledge on coatings regulations and standards.

12- – Record keeping, monthly report writing and technical report writing.  Literature search including patents.

13.  Exposure to high throughput experimentation and scientific tools. Project management skills.

14. Technical training of personals-In house & at customers’ end.

15. Shade card Approvals, STD panel approvals.

16. Perform any other assignment(s) as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in paint (coatings) technology/ polymer /plastics/chemistry /chemical engineering.

Key Experience:

5-8 yrs of experience in coatings formulation especially in Industrial, testing, shade matching preferably worked in R & D or equivalent set up. Strong knowledge on serving B2B customers.
